Mike Hoium – 3D modeler, animator, motion graphics designer
I am a freelance 3D modeler, animator, and motion graphics designer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I use Cinema 4D for my 3D work and After Effects for motion graphics, as well as the rest of the Adobe tools and many other supporting applications. I have worked on a wide range of projects for many different clients, including Best Buy, The Mill, 3M, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Splice, Motion504, Target, KNOCK, Cargill, Pixel Farm, Dell, Carleton College, Optum, Verizon, the University of Minnesota, Broadhead, RBC, and Toro.
I use subdivision surface techniques for most of my 3D modeling. While the models I make are extremely accurate, file sizes are very manageable so the models are well suited for the entire animation pipeline. Depending on the project, I often provide Cinema 4D-based teams and artists with animation-ready models. Base model geometry and textures can also be transferred to other 3D software such as Maya, Max and Element3D.
